Columbia International School is an overseas-inspected private school accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Education of Canada, and by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (W.A.S.C.) in the U.S.A. and a member of The Association of Ontario Overseas School.
Faculty members all hold at least a bachelor of education degree and have Ontario teaching certificates. Many teachers hold Masters degrees in their respective fields. The high school rigorously follows the Ontario curriculum encompassing English, ESL, mathematics, geography, history, science, physical & health education, family studies, social sciences, computer, and business.

C.I.S. fosters the personal growth of each student, instills a sense of social awareness and encourages respect for achievement.  The school strives to develop powers of critical and creative thought, preparing its students both for demands of post-secondary education in English speaking universities and life as international people.  Recognizing the importance of personal development and self-esteem for success in life, the school provides students with varied opportunities for achievement and personal fulfillment through academic studies and other extra-curricular pursuits.

ESWLRs: Expected School Wide Learning Results

・Foster the personal growth and self-esteem of each individual student.
Jr.High students will complete the PGDP workbooks and applicable TAP worksheets.
Sr.High students will complete TAP worksheets and forms.

・Foster positive participation in a variety of social activities and communities.
Students will participate in exploratory club activities.
Students will be provided opportunities to participate in after-school activities.
All graduates will complete 40 hours community service.
Students will participate in school-wide fieldtrips/excursions.

・Develop academic and English language skills for post-secondary studies globally.
All graduates will successfully complete a minimum of 30 credits, including six grade 12 University Preparation courses.

・Appreciate, accept and value international communities.

Students will participate in events that promote the qualities of a variety of international communities..
